Julie Haugen - Institute Director

Julie Haugen Julie Haugen, a native of Bemidji, Minnesota, earned her B.S and Masters in Public Administration from the University of North Dakota. Julie began her career in 2001 as the Assistant to the Director of the American Diabetes Association in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Julie joined Dakota Medical Foundation in 2004 as the Education Coordinator for the Dakota Communities Access Program (DCAP), a $2.6 million initiative to improve access to, and coordination of, healthcare services for the uninsured and underinsured in central and eastern North Dakota. In January 2005, Julie became the Project Manager of DCAP and assumed responsibility for directing all initiative activities. DCAP concluded in February 2007, having enrolled over 3,000 individuals in health coverage, securing $11.8 million in reimbursement for local healthcare facilities, and accessing more than $7 million worth of prescription medications for low-income individuals.

In March 2007, Julie was named the Director of the Impact Foundation Institute. The mission of the Institute is to provide nonprofit organizations with educational resources to measurably improve their organizational and fundraising effectiveness.
