Register Your Nonprofit Organization with Impact GiveBack

Your organization can be an Impact Nonprofit! As an Impact Nonprofit, you will have a special logo on your nonprofit snapshot page on the GiveBack website and your organization will be marketed with that important designation.

Benefits of being an Impact Nonprofit include having special status among peers on the website, being recognized as a nonprofit with commendable business practices, and achieving more visibility with donors as an organization with a sound level of operation, and public accountability for results.

The five accountabilities in operation required to be an Impact Nonprofit are:

1. STRATEGIC PLAN:
The nonprofit organization has a strategic and/or operating plan(s)

2. BOARD LEADERSHIP:
The strategic and/or operating plan(s) include measures and achievements that are
reviewed by the Board of Directors at least annually

3. EVALUATING THE EXECUTIVE:
The Executive Director’s performance is reviewed annually

4. BOARD BUDGETING:
The organizational budget is approved by the Board of Directors annually

5. FINANCIALS REVIEWED:
An independent financial audit is performed annually and is available for public inspection and/or the organization’s financial statements are reviewed regularly by its Board of Directors

To secure your organization’s status as an Impact Nonprofit, you will need to attest that you are committed to these five accountabilities and that they are actual practices in your organization.

Nonprofit organizations that do not have Impact Nonprofit status can strengthen the accountabilities listed above by participating in the Impact Institute. Institute participants have the following low-cost or free training and technical assistance available to them:

- Organizational Assessment and Strategic Planning

- Fundraising Systems Development and Implementation

- Board Governance and Development

- Volunteer Management

In addition, nonprofit organizations can search the Operational Effectiveness section of the GiveBack website for additional resources to build their capacity in the five areas of accountability listed above.
